Morning Sickness Myths
Imagine being a woman that is looking forward to having a little one, but then one morning you wake up and you are dealing with the wonderful (just joking) world of morning sickness. Unfortunately most women also start to believe that their body is fighting against the little one and causing the little one harm. There is some good news and that is that most of the bad things that you may hear is just false. So rest assure that things might get bad, but not that bad.
Common Myths Explained
Here is a few of the most common myths people believe about morning sickness.
• Morning sickness will definately lead to a miscarriage. This is a myth. In fact, some researchers who have done studies have stated that those expecting women that do experience a lot of morning sickness are actually less likely to have a miscarriage. Also, many have found out that those that deal with morning sickness at some time in their current pregnancy go on to have full term little ones. Pre term birth rates are much lower for expectant women that have a lot of morning sickness.
• Being sick to much will hurt the little one. This is another major myth that many expectant women believe. While it may make you feel horrible, your little one is completely safe inside you even when you are morning sickness for the fourth time today. In fact, physicians have discovered that those women that do have morning sickness may even be helping to support the growth of the placenta. The placenta is the lifeline, so to speak, of the little one inside of you.
• All this morning sickness is going to cause my little one not to get the neccessary nutrients that he needs. This is false as well, for the most part. If you are sick quite a bit, you can dehydrate yourself. In addition you should be taking care of yourself and eating a well balanced diet. You more than likely are taking prenatal vitamins as well. Even when these things fall into line, you may still be worried about your morning sickness. The fact is, though, that more women that experience morning sickness will actually have fewer little ones with low birth weight.
All of these things show you just why morning sickness isn't the end of the world. Studies have shown that as many as 90% of expectant women that are expecting will have some form of morning sickness or another. The good news is that this can help your little one to do better while he is getting ready to enter your world.
